The Golden Age of Rock and Roll…

Sometimes heroes have feet of clay. The weight of expectation is such that the music and musicians that you grew up listening to, can only disappoint. Well not on this occasion. Mott The Hoople at the Hammersmith Apollo on Monday 5 October 2009 were nothing short of magnificent. Others have written better than I can about the reunion tour and the collective and individual ages of the band. I’ve another 20 years to go until I can compete with Ian Hunter, but last night’s performance was enough to want to dig out  my shades and let my hair grow again! (Link  here to a couple of photos of the gig if you’re interested)

Like the man says:

“…its a mighty long way down rock ‘n’ roll

As your name gets hot so your heart grows cold

‘N you gotta stay young man, you can never be old…”
