Here we go, here we go, here we go…

Sometimes we look over the parapet, only to retreat once more to the safety and security of familiar things,familiar places & familiar activities.

20 November 2009 marked the day that I jumped over the parapet, albeit in a planned way! Thirteen years a project manager working for Two Saints in Southampton ended when I left to continue in my aim to work abroad with Voluntary Services Overseas. A three month notice period is a long time and in truth its probably only in the last couple of weeks that the reality really began to bite! “Letting go” is an interesting process, as you begin to relinquish “control” of things that hitherto were your responsibility…

No matter…20 November was, by sheer coincidence, also the day that VSO contacted me with the offer of a placement in Nepal, commencing in March 2010. Still a good deal to be done before I post more detail here, but the wheels are in motion…

In the meantime, here’s a place that holds a few memories…
