Over the weekend I completed a twelve mile walking loop beginning and ending at Old Winchester Hill, and taking in some of the the South Downs. Completed in the company of around 40 others, we were (mostly) lucky with the weather. This time last year, a similar walk brought with it horizontal rain and icy winds, and very little opportunity to take in the surrounding countryside…
The walk marked the second anniversary of the disappearance of Matt Bone, a family friend. It was an opportunity to bring to public attention the work done by Missing People, a UK charity “dedicated to bringing missing children and adults back together with their families”, and to try and jog the memories of anyone who might have seen Matt at some time over the past couple of years.
Matt- I can imagine your delight in the Hampshire landscape. Do you remember the last walk that you, Rob and I did together? Here’s hoping there will be others…
